Students eligible for the Second Quarter Freshmen Academy Incentive Field Trip will need to stop by the rotunda on Tuesday, January 23rd to receive their raffle ticket for a chance to win a field trip form. A list of eligible students will be posted on Monday through the Freshman Academy Canvas Page.

Second Quarter Grades are closing, which means tomorrow, January 19th will be a Broward County early release schedule. While Monday, January 22nd will be a teacher workday to allow the second nine-week grades to be sent to B.C.P.S. officially ending the semester.

The counselors will start to meet with the students through their Study Halls to go over the online course requests and finalize their schedule for next year. Counselors will only meet with the students who have already submitted their online course selection card. Those 9th through 11th graders who need help should watch the course selection video, which can be found on the D.B.H.S. website under each class page.

One of the elective choices the Class of 2027 can make for next school year is to join one of the three magnet programs. Applications are open for any freshmen who is interested in C.B.A., I.B. or U.TAP is on the school’s website.

Join Deerfield Beach Community Cares and Broward School Board members for an informative Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, January 24th in the Auditorium starting at 6:00 p.m. They will discuss supporting student academics, extra curricular, mental health and other important services that enhance the health and well being of students in Broward County Public Schools.

There is a senior assembly Thursday, January 25th during only sixth block, for those class of 2024 members who have gold day Study Hall classes. They will start promptly after an announcement is made.

Senior Quotes deadline is in two weeks, Friday, February 2nd. All Class of 2024 members need to submit forms with a $5.00 cash payment Mr. Radecki in 267 to have their phrase in the yearbook.

National Honor Society is now running two community donation drives this month, and one is the Destination Dorm which helps alleviate the financial stress of furnishing a freshman residence hall space for graduating high school seniors. This scholarship program assists students that have demonstrated academic excellence, though live with financial hardship.

PERT Testing for F.I.U. Dual Enrollment is tomorrow, January 19th in the 240-testing Center by 7:40 a.m.

ACCESS testing will start on Tuesday, January 23rd for all E.L.L. students, but to allow everyone to test at 7:40 a.m. in the testing center. Students will be given specific days next week, the schedule is posted in the main mall.

The final day for 9th and 10th graders to make-up the P.M. 2 assessment is next week. It will be broken between three days starting Tuesday, January 23rd, but all testing will begin at 7:40 a.m. in room 252.
