When we think of Halloween, one of the first things that come to mind is classic Halloween movies. Iconic titles like Halloweentown, Ghostbusters, Beetlejuice, and Scooby-Doo made Halloween memorable for all of us as kids. They\u2019re creepy and they\u2019re kooky, mysterious, and spooky. 1991\u2019s The Addams Family brought the iconic franchise to a new generation of viewers. A reboot of the 1964 sitcom, The Addams Family movie is about a mysterious stranger showing up at the Addams Family residence, claiming to be Gomez Addams\u2019 long-lost brother. However, Morticia Addams suspects the man of being a fraud. Morticia\u2019s suspicions are proven to be right when, with the help of a shady lawyer, the man\u2019s sinister agenda is revealed. <\/p>\n
1993\u2019s Hocus Pocus tells the story of three sister witches that plan to take revenge on Salem after they were burned at the stake three- hundred years prior. When a teenage boy lights a black candle, he unknowingly brings the three witches back from the dead. Throughout the movie, Max, his crush Allison, and his little sister Dani are on the run from the witches and must continue to evade capture before sunrise so the witches can die for good and not take their souls in exchange for youth. The talents of Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy make this movie even more hilarious and iconic.<\/p>\n
Tim Burton\u2019s The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of his earliest works. The stop-motion picture illustrates the story of Pumpkin King Jack Skellington leaving his supposedly boring life in Halloween Town, venturing into the woods, and finding trees with doors that lead into different holiday-themed towns. The one that catches Jack\u2019s eye is Christmas Town. After exploring the town of flashing lights, snow, and merry children and adults, Jack takes his new knowledge of the holiday back with him to Halloween Town. Jack attempts to do Christmas Halloween style but unfortunately, it ends up backfiring on him. This timeless tale also has a haunting soundtrack. <\/p>\n
He\u2019s the friendliest ghost everyone knows. 1995\u2019s Casper is about a young ghost boy that haunts a mansion in Maine with his sleazy uncles. When ghost specialist James Harvey and his daughter Kat move in, Casper is instantly smitten with Kat. Casper and Kat become quick friends, but their friendship is complicated by his transparent state and his uncle\u2019s cruel antics. Their friendship is then put to the test when someone threatens to take Casper\u2019s and Kat\u2019s home away, and they don\u2019t plan on being nice about it. <\/p>\n
2003\u2019s The Haunted Mansion is about a workaholic real estate agent dragging his family to a creepy mansion in the middle of nowhere. The family isn\u2019t welcoming to the place at all, for good reason, the master of the mansion and the mansion\u2019s residents are all ghosts. The real estate agent comes to his senses and decides that it\u2019s time for the family to leave however, things go from bad to worse when the master claims that the real estate misses is his long-lost love and that he must marry her for him and the ghosts to finally move on. Eddie Murphy stars in this hilarious Halloween comedy plus it’s a fun film for the whole family. <\/p>\n
