 New school year, better accomplishments

The new school year has started, and now it’s time to see the new accomplishments it brings! Deerfield Beach High is now an “A” ranked school, which is very exciting to see the school reach this goal. This is also such a big acknowledgment for DBHS students, as it shows how hard everyone is working to continuously improve student performance and graduation rates. For some, this is the very first year of high school or even their last, but no matter the year, being able to make a change is always possible.

William Martinez, a 12th grader, said, “My goals for my senior year are to graduate with a 3.5 GPA and end off with a successful football season as well.”

All of the students here have bright futures and goals they want to meet. The staff here at DBHS works with students every day to make sure that those goals are met and that graduation is an accomplishment everyone can achieve. In addition to these academic improvements, the school has also prioritized the upgrade of the environment through significant campus renovations like a new media center, artificial turf field, and renovations to restrooms and ventilation systems.

Another student named Kmahri, who is in 9th grade, said, “My goals are to do well throughout my years, make it to Howard University, and end up with good scores.”

A school’s environment is very important for everyone to do their best, which is clearly understood by this school. As much as DBHS focuses on students’ academics, there are also clubs that will shape us into well-rounded individuals with the things that students are passionate about, rather than being forced to engage in. This includes Band, Art Club, Garden Club, Robotics Club, and a lot more to choose from.

There are so many open doors to make this school year great and achieve your yearly goals with the help of DBHS, whether that’s from the help of staff, improvement of academics, a healthy environment, or even the clubs you join, all working together to help you make the most of your high school years at Deerfield Beach High.
