Baseball season recap

The Bucks have gone head-to-head with the district’s most competitive teams and still done well for themselves. They started off the season strong by defeating Fort Lauderdale’s Flying L’s, which was a team they’ve previously lost to. They faced off against Monarch High School in Coconut Creek on April 11th which led to a Deerfield loss of 7-5. However, they brought the heat right back next game beating Dillard in a forfeit. The Deerfield Beach High Bucks boys’ baseball team also made it to playoffs but were unfortunately eliminated by Seminole Ridge High.

Bucks baseball finished off a successful season with 12 wins and 8 losses. This team has shown tremendous improvement over the years. The team had a previous record of 12 wins and 10 losses as they were eliminated in the playoffs against Coral Glades. They consider this season to be a better season than last and continue to show everyone what they can do on the field.

“Compared to last season we definitely are doing better and showing other teams Deerfield isn’t a team to be messed with anymore,” said DBHS senior Roodley Sanon.

The players are very satisfied with the season, and they credit their improvement to their dedicated coaches, who rebuilt the team. The coaches put in the work every day, have private sessions, and genuinely care for the athletes. They appreciate the support given by the coaches and staff and would not be able to do this without them.

“I would credit my success to the coaches and the team seeing as they’re all great guys that put the work in everyday to be able to help improve this team both individually and collectively both on and off the field,” said DBHS junior Shane Gonzalez.

Stay tuned for next year’s baseball season as the Deerfield Beach High Bucks continue to improve and show everyone what they can do
