Beyond The Final Set

Expectations for the boys 24-25 Volleyball season

Boys’ volleyball is back at Deerfield Beach High School with high expectations after an underwhelming season. The team’s record was 9-11, and unfortunately, they lost to Coral Springs in the playoffs, ending their season last year. This is head coach DeBrocq’s second year coaching both girls’ and boys’ volleyball and as a former player himself at DBHS, he is more than prepared for this upcoming season.

“This upcoming season my expectations are just for every player to bring their best out on the court and meeting new people, “Sophomore Jadden Perdomo said.

Volleyball is a team sport. One person can not hold a whole team up. In this sport, everyone has to bring their best if they want to play up to their expectations. Yes, every player works on their individual skills, but for a team to play their best, there has to be an understanding of each other and trust in one another.

“In those moments where we could be down or maybe just not playing with our all I try to be uplifting those are the moments where the team needs it, “Sophomore Jadden Perdomo said.

In every sport, there will be times when a team may not be playing its best and can seem as if it doesn’t want to be out there playing. This is where having a good bond and chemistry with your team is important. Uplifting your teammates in those moments can save a game.

With this boy’s volleyball season coming close to a start you won’t want to miss it so come out and cheer on your fellow bucks.
