 Bucks In Bows

Support from the stands

The Lady Bucks are charging into this upcoming season, helping to motivate the beach boys in their recent win against Stoneman Douglas High School. Without their support, Varsity would not have been able to beat them 36-0 on September 6th. The ladies have not cheered for two weeks due to heavy rain and flooding. The Lady Bucks will be alongside the Beach Boys on October 25 against the Western Wildcats, and as always, the ladies will be cheering on our Bucks.

“I like how kind and fun the people are and how they always do things that help to make cheering fun,” said freshman Zoriah Hawkins, a back base on the cheer squad. This shows that even though there may be an immense amount of pressure cheering, at the end of the day it all comes down to having fun and encouraging each other.

“I like that it’s fun and a safe space to be myself,” said freshman Briana Joseph, a side base. The cheer community is incredibly supportive and helps to build confidence in girls. After a hard day, the girls know they can rely on cheer to brighten their day.

Although cheer may seem like an easy sport, there is a lot of conditioning and preparation that goes into their Friday night performances. The girls had cheer camp a few weeks ago and practice after school often. In conclusion, cheer is a fantastic way to gain confidence and put a smile on people’s faces.
