Butler Scholarship: Bucks for the Bucks

Seniors graduating from Deerfield Beach High School that plan on attending a college or a university should strongly consider applying for the Butler Scholarship program to help with college costs. The program helps students who need aid in paying for their college tuition.

In order to apply for the Butler Scholarship, students need a minimum GPA of 2.0 to apply and must achieve a GPA of 2.5 or more in college in order to renew the scholarship. The students’ GPA helps determine how much scholarship money they can receive. Other factors are also considered, such as financial need, participation in extracurricular activities, and the kind of university the student will be attending (4-year, 2-year, Vocational, etc.)

The Butler Scholarship began in 1976 when J.D. and Alice Butler, two pioneers of Deerfield Beach, began the scholarship at Deerfield Beach High School to assist students with college expenses. Only Deerfield Beach High seniors are eligible. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is April 15, 2021, at 2:30 pm. More information along with the application can be found here.
