Dual Enrollment Spring Applications Are Now Open
Students looking to earn college credits before graduating high school have the opportunity to do so by taking a dual enrollment class. Students would have to go to the Broward College campus and attend a course, then earn the credit once they complete the semester.
All applicants who meet the SAT/ACT testing requirement can enroll. If they have not yet taken the SAT/ACT, they can take the Accuplacer Test administered by Broward College to meet the requirement. All applications must be submitted before October 1st, 2021.
The Accuplacer Test is available year-round, and students can access the testing request form by clicking on this link, then selecting ‘Testing’ and filling out the form. The testing voucher, along with the exam results, will be sent to the registered email. Counselors must receive the results from the registering student to verify eligibility.
A part of the registration process is filling out the Dual Enrollment Recommendation Form to select the course(s) students want to take during the spring semester. Once the form has been filled out and signed by both the applicant and the parent, it will be automatically sent to the school counselor for approval and signature.
To access the Dual Enrollment Recommendation Form: click here, then click on “Students” and scroll down to ‘How to get started,” and click the link for the Dual Enrollment Recommendation form.
Taking a college class during high school is a great way to prepare for life after graduation at a college/university. Students looking to challenge themselves by taking a dual enrollment class may speak with their counselors for more information.
Broward College is holding an event for any parents and students that may have any questions on dual enrollment opportunities. The event will be on Monday, September 13th from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. The zoom link is https://broward-edu.zoom.us/s/99367931983. Webinar ID: 993 6793 1983.
