College Tour Program

College Tour is a program delivered by the Urban League of Broward County and funded by The Jim Moran Foundation, in conjunction with the Deerfield Beach High School. This program provides the student body with a chance at a case management services, parental workshops, ACT/SAT preparation, academic tutoring, self-development workshops, community service opportunities, field trips, and a four-day State of Florida college tour to prepare students for College and Career Readiness, improve grades, enhance ACT/SAT test scores, increase community involvement, and successful program completion beyond high school.

Program Orientation

The official kick-off and orientation to College Tour Program will be at the Deerfield Beach High School Auditorium. This is a students opportunity to learn about the upcoming college tours and ask any questions they may have. Whether you’re a first-time participant or a returning student, this event is a mandatory to be a 2024-2025 candidate: .

• Saturday, September 7th

• 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

• Auditorium

Requirements

To be considered for the 2022-2023 College Tour Program, Returning and New students applicants must:

• Be a student at Deerfield Beach High School

• Complete the initial application

New Applicants must be in tenth or eleventh grade

Returning Applicants must be in eleventh or twelfth grade

• Grade point average between 2.7 g.p.a. – 3.2 g.p.a. on virtual counselor as of Monday September 12th

*An interested student with a G.P.A. above 3.2 must be a first generation college student (There is a 10% enrollment cap for students above 3.2 g.p.a.)

• Be eligible for free or reduced lunch

• Not receive official academic or behavioral disciplinary action more than one time per year

• Deadline to submit the initial application is Monday September 12, 2022 by 3:00pm
