2024 tennis season recap
The Deerfield Beach High School tennis season ending comes with a memorable record for the girls team. The Bucks started their era with a win against Coral Springs High School. Even with the past seasons going smoothly with victories, this season had challenges.
DBHS junior and girls’ tennis player, Kathryn Hayes, is pleased with how this season has gone. “This season has gone well with the team, but one thing I think we can work on together is consistency,” said Hayes.
The team consists of various grades from freshmen to seniors; having a solid mixed team is a crucial thing to have, especially for newcomers. Despite tennis being a one-person sport in some cases, having a good set of teammates and leaders that motivate to no end is key.
“I think all our skill sets have improved and have gotten a lot stronger, but for next season, I plan to sharpen up my skills and work together with my teammates to get the best results,” said Hayes.
The season ending only means more preparation for the next one. With new captains to help lead the team, Hayes being one of them, learning will hopefully prove to be a breeze on and off the court.
The Deerfield beach tennis bucks consider this season a roller coaster of emotions, they are more than ready for the next chapter.
