Students who have purchased a yearbook may pick their copy up during their lunch periods in the rotunda today, May 9th.

The City of Deerfield Beach has a showcase of the youth programs that are offered for free tomorrow, May 10th at the Johnny L. Tigner Community Center. They will be hosting a Programs Demo Day featuring several of their programs for the community. Although this is a free opportunity, it does require registration, so the instructors have an idea of the number of participants to expect.

Now is the time for students to clear their obligations before the school year ends. For returns of textbooks or library books, bring them to Mr. Snow in 216. Seniors this is important, as you will not be allowed to walk the stage in June if on the obligation list. Ms. Porter will process all lost and other obligations in Student Counseling Office during lunch periods.

Deerfield Beach’s Prom is set for Saturday, May 17th at the Eden Ballroom in Hollywood. If seniors are interested in running for Prom Queen or King they must pick up their application from Student Affairs immediately as the paperwork is due with all required signatures on Monday, May 12th.

DECA members will have a mandatory meeting on Monday, May 12th at 2:50 p.m. to discuss important plans for the upcoming school year, including officer elections and chapter goals. Your attendance is crucial in Ms Cabral’s room 246 to shape the future of the DECA chapter.

A.P. Testing has three exams today, May 9th with U.S. History organizing their test right now in the gym, Art and Design students will be working on their submissions all day in 254 and Macroeconomics will be in the gym during the afternoon.

Students need to have their I.D.s around their necks to enter any testing room on campus for E.O.C. and FAST testing next week. So stop by Student Affairs if you are missing your copy to look in the lost and found or request a replacement.

Summer Driver’s Education registration opens their Microsoft Forms Link on Monday, May 19th at 8:00 a.m.. Students can log on to secure their lottery spots for session A or B.

Next week, the City of Deerfield Beach will be implementing photo enforced school zones on Buck Pride Way. Enforcement begins on Thursday, May 15th, at 7:10 a.m. for every school day after. Be sure to adhere to the signs and posted speed limits during those days, as the cameras are active until 3:10 p.m. even without police presences.

Registration for eligible students needing bus transportation in the 2025-2026 school year is available now. All students must complete the Register 2 Ride survey by the June deadline to be guaranteed a seat on the first day of school in August.

The first Destination Success party will be on Monday, May 19th for all students who earned a 3, 4, or 5 on the Biology E.O.C. There will be something every day that week as part of the Passport to Proficiency so students who unlock powerful skills to boost success will be rewarded after testing is done.

The Field Boyz are looking for players and trainers who want to join the elite stage for the 2025-2026 season. They are hosting tryouts this week, immediately afterschool on the football field. Varsity Football’s Spring Game will be happening at Pahokee High on Friday, May 16th. The Beach Boys will be playing the Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m.

Those seniors wanting to participate in the Class of 2025 commencement ceremony need to submit the graduation decorum and etiquette letter with theirs and a parent’s signature acknowledging receipt of the letter. Students should return the signed letter to the Ms. Deese in Student Affairs by Friday, May 23rd.

The Step-Up Rally will be on Friday, May 16th during A and B Lunch for all juniors and seniors in the Rotunda. All Class of 2025 are asked to wear white to show they are stepping out of Deerfield while Class of 2026 should shine in their new color black as they step up to their senior year.

Senior exams start on Monday, May 19th with seventh and eighth period exams during their normal class periods. Bell Schedules will not be changed or be held so when exams are finished all twelfth graders are expected to attend their fifth and sixth period classes.

All 11th graders must take their senior pictures with Cady to be in the 2026 yearbook and be part of the graduation slide show. Bookings are now open and August starts a very busy year, so ideally juniors should book their CADY session this summer. Class of 2026 members just need to go to cady.com/schedule to find a time and date that works for them.

Senior who that earned a grade of B or higher in both the 3rd quarter and 4th quarter can file for exemptions this week for up to 3 exams. Only one exam exemption submission will be accepted before the Tuesday, May 13th deadline. B.V.S., F.L.V.S. or Dual Enrollment exams cannot be exempted.

The Unity 4 Teens Youth Development Program will be offering 2025 Summer Program here on Deerfield’s campus starting Tuesday, June 17th. Students can register for classes to help prepare for the future, such as career exploration and college readiness. All registration must be done through the link on the school’s website.

Tuesday has a change of bell schedule for the whole school as 9th and 10th graders are P.M. 3 Testing while several 11th and 12th graders who need to meet a graduation requirement will FAST Test. Green and Purple lists are posted in the main mall to check testing or holding room locations.

Lists are also posted in the main mall for Wednesday, May 14th Algebra One and Geometry Testing. Look for the bright pink and grey lists to check for testing locations as bells will be held due to those testing along with the A.P. and I.B. tests that day.
