The Driver Education Program is offered by Broward County Public Schools at Deerfield Beach High School and is free of charge. All sessions are open to students of both public and non-public secondary schools. The program offers the DELAP program which includes the Restricted License Test and Drivers License Test for those who are eligible.
Goals
• Provide a program that ensures the safety of our student drivers
• Mandatory driving in physical cars (not simulators)
• State certification for all instructors
• Provide research and statistics of all student drivers that completed our program
• Provide all students who are eligible the opportunity to take the Class E Knowledge (Permit) or Skills (License) exam to get their Learner’s Permit or Driver’s License
- Students must be 15 years of age on or before the first class session, live in Broward County, and attend a school in Broward County.
- Driver’s Education classes are for current students only. If a student graduates or withdraws from high school prior to the start date of a session, they are no longer eligible to participate in the program.
- Students are allowed to miss one class, except for the first day. If a student is absent the first day, they will automatically be withdrawn from the program.
Summer 2025 Sessions
Session A:
• Monday, June 9th , 2025 – Wednesday, June 25th, 2025
• June 9th, June 10th, June 11th, June 16th , June 17th , June 18th , June 23rd , June 24th , June 25th
• Morning Session: 8:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
• Afternoon Session: 12:15 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Session B:
• Monday, June 30th , 2025 – Wednesday, July 16th, 2025
• June 30th
• July 1st, July 2nd, July 7th, July 8th , July 9th , July 14th , July 15th July 16th
• Morning Session: 8:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
• Afternoon Session: 12:15 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Registration opens up at 8:00 a.m. on the date listed. In order to request a seat in one of Driver’s Education classes, please try to register as soon as possible but this link will close on the date listed.
2025 Summer
• Opens: Monday, May 19, 2025 | 8:00 a.m.
• Closes: Wednesday, May 23, 2025 | 4:00 p.m.
Lottery results will be communicated via e-mail on May 30, 2025.
Registration for Fall 2024 Driver’s Education will be available starting Monday, August 19, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. and close Friday, August 23, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
