Broward County Public Schools have partnered with Broward College, University of Florida, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to provide eligible students opportunities in college courses while in high school.
Fall Dual Enrollment
The Dual Enrollment application for Broward College is now available for students that would like to apply for the fall of 2023. The deadline to submit an application is Monday, May 1st.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Minimum 3.0 unweighted high school grade point average (GPA)
• College level test scores in all areas – English, Reading and Math
• Completed Dual Enrollment Recommendation form for each term (signed by parent/legal guardian, student, school counselor, and principal)
• Maintain a 3.0 unweighted GPA in high school academic work
• Must complete the Accuplacer test
Additional Information:
• Students are allowed to take only one course for fall of 2023. If taking a science class, students can also take the corresponding lab course.
• New this term: Students must print the “Broward College Dual Enrollment Parent/Legal Guardian Form”, have a parent/guardian sign it, then upload it to their DE form before submitting to the counselor.
• If students have never taken a Dual Enrollment course before, they must take the placement test first. Qualifying scores are required before they can submit a Dual Enrollment form.
• Student and Parent Information Session recording can be watched here for help in preparation for the fall 2023 courses.
• Students may see their assigned counselor if they have any questions.

There is no cost to qualifying students for required books or tuition.
Initial Eligibility Requirements
• Must be enrolled as a Broward County Public School student
• Minimum 3.0 unweighted high school grade point average (GPA)
• College level test scores in all areas – English, Reading and Math
Continued Eligibility Requirements
• Completed Dual Enrollment Recommendation form for each term (signed by parent/legal guardian, student, school counselor, and principal)
• Maintain a 3.0 unweighted GPA in high school academic work
• Maintain a 2.0 Broward College GPA
• Earn a grade of a “C” or better in each college-level course
Dual Enrolled students who receive a “D” or “F” grade are no longer eligible to participate in the program

Dual Enrollment Program Information

• Student must be a registered junior or senior in Broward County Public Schools
• 3.6 unweighted high school grade point average (GPA)
• Qualifying scores from one of the three following tests:
• SAT- 1100 composite score
• ACT- 22 composite score
• PSAT- 1130 composite score

Dual Enrollment Program Information

• Must receive approval from high school Guidance Counselor
• 3.0 unweighted cumulative high school grade point average (G.P.A.)

Continued Eligibility Requirements
• Earn a C (2.0) or higher in each FAU course
• Maintain a 3.0 unweighted high school GPA
• Submit completed permission form to assigned BCPS guidance counselor

The dual enrollment program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is an aviation program that is part of the Broward County Public Schools Career Technical Accelerated Programs.
Students enrolled in the program take classes on their high school campus from instructors credentialed by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Schools may offer courses such as drone technology, airport business, and ground operations.
