The final Umbrella Academy season
Released on August 8, 2024, Umbrella Academy makes another appearance with its new and final season. Netflix premiered the series, and the first two seasons primarily followed the apocalypse suit and Dallas storylines. It received lots of good reactions from critics and audiences because of its humor, drama, action, and characters. All 3 seasons received positive reviews from critics meanwhile the last season got mixed reviews. The story follows a constant change which throws off news fans, especially if they haven’t seen the previous seasons. The seven main characters are played by Aiden Gallagher as Five, Elliot Page as Victor, Tom Hopper as Luther, Robert Sheehan as Klaus, David Castenada as Diego, and Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison.
Umbrella Academy is a book series created and written by Gerard Way in 2007 that was later made into a live-action show in 2019. It follows a dysfunctional family of seven children with bizarre powers who are turned into a superhero group named “Umbrella Academy.” They are adopted by a billionaire named Sir Reginald Hargreeves who was intrigued with the story of these seven children and wanted to work with the abilities they have. The unusual birth of these seven children is what attracted Sir Reginald and even though they may be of different blood, the children grew up to develop a sibling-like bond.
It has been popular ever since its first season with 176.1 million views and its fourth and final season with 863.1 million views in its first full week on Netflix. It became popular on other apps such as TikTok, Instagram to name a few with lots of edits of the show and characters coming out on TikTok gaining millions of views and likes. The second season made the show the third most viewed Netflix show in 2020, The second and third seasons followed on July 31, 2020, and June 22, 2022. In August 2022, the series was renewed for a fourth and final season.
“I love the character development in the new season, and I was very interested in the plot,” said DBHS ninth grader Kiara Ordonez-Diaz.
In the last season, the siblings come together to stop the “cleanse” and regain their powers in the process, but some get completely different powers from what they originally had at the end they realize that to make everything back and fix the timeline they would need to erase themselves from existence, they conclude and fix the timeline which means they erased them from existence.
