 Hitting to success

Recap of baseball 25’

Deerfield Beach Bucks had a good ending for this season. They had some tough opponents they did not give up and they kept on going for the win. The baseball team sees themselves playing it in the future and is optimistic about it. Baseball head coach Drew Phillips is proud of the team by overcoming their challenges, and how they managed to work as a team on the field and off the field.

The baseball team recently played against teams like coral springs high school and Fort Lauderdale high school. Both teams put up a tuff fight against The Bucks, but the Bucks took both wins back home with them and the player of the game was Diego Avila. Player of the Game was awarded to him on Monday, April 7, 2025.

“Even though I’m the player of the game, I still want to learn how to get better by overcoming my struggles, and train even harder next year,” said DBHS junior Diego Avila.

The head coach and Assistant Coach have been gleeful with the team and how much they have improved since the start of the year and are more excited for next year. The coach tries to push every single player to their maximum potential, work as a team, and be a team on and off the field. There are only 2 underclassmen on the team, so the younger players try their hardest to be the best while developing their skills. The coach is confident that the team will be even better by next year.

“I’m very grateful that they work as a team and help each other out and they are probably the best team I’ve ever had in all these years I’ve been coaching,” said Head Coach Phillips

With the season coming to an end, they are filled with hope that they’ll win next year, so they must work very hard to overcome everything they have going their way, showing full effort in practices, off and on the field.
