Holiday Cheer on Film

Holiday movies in every genre

The holidays are full of people making their favorite treats, celebrating with family, decorating with lights, and watching their favorite holiday movies. Everyone can agree that movies play a major part in the holidays whether it’s the favorite classics of December or new upcoming movies, it’s nice to sit back and enjoy an in-holiday spirit movie.

Films like How The Grinch Stole Christmas, The Polar Express, Home Alone, and The Nightmare Before Christmas are all classics to watch during the holidays. There are many different genres of holiday movies, making it possible to find something for everyone.

Movies like Krampus, Black Christmas, A Christmas Horror Story, and Better Watch out are all horror holiday movies that include the holiday spirit but also are made to scare.

“During the holiday season, I like to decorate my Christmas tree and spend time with my family. My favorite movie is The Grinch, and my favorite snack to eat while watching is chocolate-covered popcorn,” said DBHS freshman Jaslyn Carrion.

A good comedic movie is Noelle, Noelle is about the daughter of Kris Kringle, also known as Santa Claus, wishing to be more like her brother, but her brother is getting on the verge of stress. He takes a break but does not return, so Noelle must find her brother to save the holidays.

In the holiday season, there is love in many ways. Mistletoes, gift giving, warm cookies, and being with the people that one loves. One example of a loving experience is couples having romantic movie nights in their festive pajamas. For the romantic audience, a few good romance holiday movies are Falling for Christmas, Love Hard, and Last Christmas.

“My favorite movie is The Grinch, and a good snack I like to eat while watching is cookies. Watching movies is an important part of Christmas because it puts you in the mood”, said DBHS freshman Benson Escarment.

The holidays are a time for everyone to be loving and festive. Watching tons of festive tv shows and movies set the spirit for the holidays.
