Is Old Truly Gold?

Are older TV shows better?
Without a doubt, the greatest form of art is film. TV shows are a big part of it. As the years go by and technology improves, so does the production of TV shows. Some people still enjoy the old and nostalgic shows, rather than the new ones with better production costs, even debating that they are better than the ones companies are releasing today.
There are many examples of great shows, old and new, but what separates the two is the quality. An example would be ‘Dexter (2006 – 2013)’ & ‘You (2018 – Now)’. Both shows take the same direction, however, the viewer can immediately tell the difference in quality. The storytelling in both shows is entirely different in terms of quality, as one (Dexter) could be seen as outdated, and the other (You) could be seen as perfectly written. The video quality is something also to point out. ‘Dexter’ could be seen as unattractive, but ‘You’ can be seen as modernly appealing to the eye video quality.
“The old TV shows are better because back then, they were all creative and cool. Now, it’s just lame kids’ stuff and not as cool as back then,” said Deerfield Beach High School freshman Kevin Noel
Newer TV shows have their good and bad qualities. Shows nowadays are more open to things that older shows would avoid and avoid things that would be considered offensive. Most producers of newer shows think about their audience and try to cater to them as much as possible. Although some older shows did the same, they also did what sold most. Few people say that most entertainment shows and films as of recently are just cash grabs and made with no intent to truly entertain the viewer, but rather make money from clicks and criticism.
People have different preferences when it comes to TV shows and films. Some enjoy older, nostalgic shows for their familiar characters and stories. Others prefer newer entertainment that is more modern and catering to them. Ultimately, choices depend on personal taste and experiences.
