Venom returns for a “last dance”

With a final installment in the Venom trilogy, Eddie Brock and Venom have an intriguing story. Following Eddie, this film begins where it left off in the latest movie credits, with Eddie at the bar with his best friend there to have an enjoyable time. These events commence the movie with an engaging and entertaining start.

Directed by Kelly Marcel, Venom 3 was released on November 13, 2024. Casting Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and Venom, the cast members were thrilled to have an amazing crew. Hardy praised Marcel, saying he was proud of her, and it was an honor to watch her direct. Unlike the rest of Marvel’s films, Venom three will stream on Netflix instead of Disney Plus in early January of 2025.

Once the ball gets rolling, we follow Eddie on his trip to New York, where he is transformed into Venom and then attacked by a creature called a Xenophage. The Xenophages are a monstrosity created by this film’s not-well-known main villain. Knull is the father of the Xenophages and the symbiotes. Later in the movie, we discover that the symbiotes trapped him where he is, and he created the Xenophages to track them down and force them to free him. Knull needs something called the codex to be set free. With Venom containing the codex, this welcomed a new plot.

“I think the Venom movies are enjoyable while putting action and comedy together in one movie.” said DBHS Sophomore Katherine Cruz Borja.

This movie gives room not only for Marvel but also for Sony to expand on their expedition with new characters and larger plots. Many things were left to be desired, including the immensely popular Spider-Man interaction everyone was looking forward to. Although the movie ends with a cliffhanger, the introduction of the multiverse in the MCU has much to expand upon. Due to the potential shown off by new versions of characters. Along with cameos of certain characters, with many plot holes and plotlines to flesh out. 

Leading to the final blend of the two main plots, Eddie and Venom find their way through the final act and end the movie with a bang. Kelly Marcel has no plans of continuing the venom films. Both Hardy and Marcel have admitted that they have always envisioned the Venom franchise as a trilogy. But Eddie and Venom may still appear in future marvel movies.
