New and Stranger Things on Netflix

Upcoming Season Four

Netflix’s global sensation sci-fi horror show “Stranger Things” season four will premiere this upcoming summer. After nearly two years from the release of season three, dedicated fans are ecstatic to hear the news of new content.

Filming started in 2020 but was stopped because of the pandemic and didn’t resume until later in October of 2020. “Stranger Things” has released trailers through social media and other platforms on season four and its release date. The fourth season will be in two separate parts with different release dates. Part one will release on May 27 and part two will release in the summer.

The show follows the aftermath of a young boy who was once kidnapped by strange forces, and how it unveils the shady experiments that are taking place in his town. A gang of five boys also discover a young girl with telekinesis abilities.

The twin brothers Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer or professionally known as The Duffer Brothers from their number of film works began their creation that would become well-known in 2015. Once they had finished writing the script, the challenge was to find child actors impervious to the adult material featured in the story.

Such cast members are the group made up of Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, and Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson.

“I’ve seen all three seasons of Stranger Things, I’m excited to hear they’re working on it already,” junior Jaira Melendez said. “It’s been a while since anything new has come out.”

Netflix announced season four to debut in the summer of 2022. The creators have also confirmed the finale of the series to be far from concluding. Recently, the Duffer brothers announced the future of a season five finale for the show that has been continuing for the past six years.

The teaser trailer titled “Welcome to California” follows the main character Eleven or commonly known referred to as El, narrating a letter to her friend Mike. The official trailer was released on April 12, which shows El narrating the challenges of the gang trying to move on from the previous events that happened.

“The trailer seems a little cryptic, we don’t get a lot of information about this season,” senior Jade Downing said. “I’m also anticipating seeing how different this year will be compared to last season.”

All original cast members are returning to the big screen with the addition of new “people” to the chaos happening in the plot.

“I love the action in it and the retro aesthetics it creates,” junior Jaira Melendez said. “I’ll binge watch it when it comes out– that show does that to you– like have you glued to the screen.”

This series has continued to bring adventure, horror, supernatural, and action to people who have been watching since its premiere. With the upcoming season and future season five, the Duffer Brothers have proven the power fans have on a story that started as a project.
