The insight of new head coach J.T Thomas 

Out with the old, in with the new. After a losing season, the Deerfield Beach High School Football team is now turning the page, with new head coach JT. Thomas is ready to write a new chapter for the program. Former NFL player JT. Thomas is the new head coach of the Deerfield Beach High School Football team. Thomas played his high school football at Blanche Ely before attending West Virginia University. Guiding the team with a drive to victory and a motivational team working hard for a comeback.

“Mediocre people don’t like high achievers, and high achievers don’t like mediocre people,” said Football Coach Nick Saban.

Nick Saban, a retired NFL and college coach who used to coach the Miami Dolphins, the LSU Tigers, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and a couple of other teams. What Saban means behind this quote is that it’s about alinement and not ego, and that most mediocre people go for “good enough” while the high achiever’s challenge the norm work until to feel that friction of difficulty. You can’t build greatness with people who tolerate mediocrity.

Also, upcoming Freshman Jeremiah Gunn, who is also a new face to the team, has experienced great things from training with Head Coach JT. Thomas. Coming from Jeremiah Gunn, “He is very passionate about teaching the game and helping us better our IQ and football knowledge. He brings good energy and spirit on and off the field. Coach JT is a mentor and a good coach.”
