New schedule, who this?
Welcoming back over 2,000 students to Deerfield Beach High School while introducing the new freshmen class of 2026 can be a complicated process. Guidance counselors tried to put students into their elected classes, but some classes conflicted or the master schedule changed leaving students wondering what happened to the class they wanted.
Consequently during the first week of school, students can have time to determine whether or not they think that a class is suitable for them after meeting their teachers and classmates. If not, they are given the chance to change their schedule in hopes of getting a class that they think is a better fit.
Throughout the first week of school, well until the 22nd of August, students will be able to request a change in their schedules easily through this forms link at home and filling it out with their parents, these forms need to be returned as soon as possible to a teacher or to the counseling department. But keep in mind students cannot request a specific teacher or lunch as a reason to change their class.
Also do not try to stop in for a one-on-one to see your counselor as guidance is still packed with new registration. Plus teachers are prohibited to write a pass for a student unless it is a study hall, if so the teacher must first call in advance to administrators convenience to see if their available. These forms allow the counselors to respond as quickly as possible.
