Recap of 67th Annual Grammy's
On Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, the 67th annual Grammys were held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The stars made a grand entrance, walking the red carpet. Taylor Swift showed her Chiefs pride, wearing a red Vivian Westwood mini dress. A ‘T’ initial was draped on a ruby chain across her upper thigh. Fans believe that this is a hidden Easter egg from her song “Guilty as Sin?”. Kendrick Lamar made a statement showing off his all-denim outfit. In Canada, it’s called a ‘Canadian Tux’, to keep taunting Drake, who is Canadian.
To get the show on a roll, Sabrina Carpenter performed her hit single “Espresso”. She won ‘best pop vocal album’ and ‘best pop solo performance’. Kenrick Lamar won the ‘Best Record of the Year’ due to his Drake diss track “Not Like Us”. Benson Boone kicked off his performance “Beautiful Things”, and viewers were shocked when he stuck a backflip between the lines.
Making history, Dochii became the third woman to win ‘Best Rap Album’ alongside Lauren Hill and Cardi B.
“I dedicated myself to sobriety and God told me that I would be rewarded,” said Dochii.
Chappel Roan performed “Pink Pony Club” and won “Best New Artist” later at night. Her performance included a life-sized pink pony and clown roaming the stage.
“I told myself that if I ever won a Grammy, I would demand that labels offer a livable wage and healthcare, especially to developing artists,” said Chappel Roan
Fans were delighted to be able to watch amazing celebrities and influencers gain recognition for their hard work and be rewarded, and this event became the talk of the night for the next few days.
Finally, the moment fans have been waiting for, Beyonce won a Grammy. After 25 long years, Cowboy Carter won “Best Country Album” and “Best Album” on her album E.T. Her daughter, Blue Ivy, made an appearance wearing a stunning sapphire blue dress, only fitting for her name.
“It’s very surreal and it’s been 25 years of just working hard and trying my best to keep growing and I’m very honored,” said Beyonce, also known as Cowboy Carter.
In Contribution to the L. A wildfire, 7 million dollars were raised, and celebs wore blue- heart-shaped pins to show their support. Despite the amazing performances and awards, many fans were upset that Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, and various other artists didn’t win an award, there are high hopes for next year!
