Summer School Information

Broward Schools, such as Deerfield Beach High, have entered the long-awaited final quarter of the school year. Summer break will follow soon; however, some students may leave this school year lacking their class credits. Therefore, summer school for DBHS students will be held at Deerfield Beach Middle, June 20th-July 28th from Monday through Thursday and attended from 7:30 am-11:30 am.

Those who need it may take summer school due to missing the required credits for graduation not achieved during the school year. A maximum of 2 Credit Recovery courses (CR) may be scheduled, and the student will receive .50 credit in the course and an added .50 credit in an elective. The previously stated will not apply for a non-CR course.

While attending, students will not be allowed to leave early during their courses, which could be: English 1-4, Algebra, Geometry, Biology, Chemistry, World History, and US History. Transportation will be available to students who live more than two miles from the summer program or within a hazardous walking zone. Many summer school programs will be free, excluding some Before/After school programs. Additionally, breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Essential criteria will need to be met to be classified as individuals who may need the summer program. To be enrolled, the student needs to be making up an Academic course necessary to graduate or looking for general grade forgiveness. It is also offered to 10-12 graders who have the Algebra 1 credit but have not passed the EOC and therefore do not have the Algebra 1 EOC credit.

The registration forms have been sent through the parent link. They must be submitted to Ms. Wright in Student Affairs or Assistant Principal Chelsie Deese. Direct questions to Assistant Principal Chelsie Deese at 754-322-0650 or via email Chelsie.Deese@browardschools.com.
