The expectations for water polo

New and returning water polo players have dipped in the water, as they are preparing for the upcoming water polo season. Water polo is a new sport, introduced back to DBHS last year. Mrs. Officer is the coach of swim and dive and now is taking on this water polo season too.

“I am expecting this season to be good. We have new people and now that some players have experience, we could achieve more.” Sophomore Riyana Latheef said.

With last season’s experience being under their belts, many of the returning players are ready to dominate the game. Leading with confidence and guiding the new players to success in the world of water polo.

“Eating healthier and showing up and just giving it our all at practice is going to help condition us and help us to be on our A-game” Sophomore, Lauren Miller said.

This shows that victory does not come at a cheap price to pay. There are many adjustments made in and out of the pool. These girls work hard every day to keep a strong physic to play the best they can.

With the season officially starting in January and even though the water is cold these girls are still bringing the heat. There are some high expectations for this upcoming season with the new and returning players. So, you would not want to miss out on coming out and supporting your fellow bucks.
