Schools Against Time

Progressive Schools

Public schools worldwide have been catching up with society in one way or another. They have advanced with the modern age, giving access to digital tech and allowing children to keep their electronics on campus. However, some schools don’t believe that contemporary times benefit students and keep their systems the same. This decision places students behind the times, making it harder to catch up.

“A school that ‘keeps up with the times’ would always try to adjust their rules and change them depending on the era. I would say keeping up with the times means not always sticking to the old stuff,” said Deerfield Beach High School freshman Stechna Etienne.

Other schools and universities are incorporating technology into students’ lives. Computers, laptops, and other digital devices become increasingly used as the years pass. They even permit smartphones during lesson time. Because of this, scholars’ education level has increased drastically over time. With the digital age on our side, the learning environment becomes much easier to tackle and more engaging to interact with.

Some schools   aren’t as progressive as others due to insufficient funds and resources. In certain places of the world, technologies aren’t as advanced. Secluded areas around the globe don’t have the same luxuries as America, and their educational spaces lack. These places aren’t preparing their students for the modern world, as they are introduced to things they never knew before, especially when handling technology.

“Teachers are good at providing opportunities to students when learning about the workforce. However, some teachers don’t allow students to grow and to learn, as they expect them to learn the topic easily,” continued DBHS freshman Stechna Etienne.

Although schools and universities are making progress in adapting to modern times, there are significant challenges that need to be addressed to ensure all students have access to high-quality education that prepares them for the future.
