Seats In Motion

Are 4DX movies worth the watch

4DX movies make a person feel as if they are experiencing the movie firsthand. Theaters use motion-enabled seats and environmental effects. These types of movies are often favorable due to the memorable experience. Seats will move around, spray the viewers with water, and use sound and environmental effects to make the experience feel more real.

“4DX movies are nice because you get to experience what it would be like to be in the movie,” said Deerfield Beach High School sophomore Andrew Weiss.

4DX movies turn watching a film into an exciting adventure that pulls the viewer right into the action. While 2D and 3D movies are already a good experience in theaters, 4DX takes it up a notch by adding things like movement, wind, and even smells, which makes the viewer feel like they are inside the movie itself. While as cool as they are, 4DX movies are also known for being much more expensive than a standard movie ticket.

“4DX movies are a bit over the top but pretty good,” said DBHS sophomore Jack Gillen.

Some people find them to be over the top due to too much stuff happening while watching the movie. 4DX movies are not recommended for people with medical conditions such as high blood pressure, epilepsy, heart conditions, back problems, and allergies; due to this, it limits the viewership and brings down the ratings. In the movie Bullet Train viewers would be able to click a button on the armrest that selects water on and water off for a better more realistic experience. One issue with 4DX  movies is that it can take multiple months to set up a 4DX theater to host a movie because the theater will have to be prepped with effects so that viewers can be the closest to being inside the movie.

Movies are a great source of entertainment for people of all ages. 4DX movies are an even better way to immerse into a fictional world and feel what it would be like to be in that movie.
