Sabrina Carpenter is on tour!
Sabrina Carpenter, a 25-year-old former Disney star released her sixth album, “Short n’ Sweet,” on August 23rd, 2024. One month after its release, the album’s North American tour opened. Sabrina’s tour sold out 33 arenas across the continent, each show attracting tens of thousands of fans. In March 2025, she will tour around Europe, concluding in Milan, Italy.
Sabrina announced her tour via Instagram on June 20th, and fans were buzzing. Many of her old fans expressed their fears of losing tickets to an “Espresso fan,” referring to newer fans who only know Sabrina for her popular single, Espresso. Fans also complained about the ticket prices being much higher than her last tour.
Short n’ Sweet is Sabrina’s fifth concert tour and first arena tour, thanks to the success and popularity of Espresso, her previous album. Because of the large arenas and increased budget to run the shows, fans are immersed in the album’s soft, girly, and romantic aesthetic. The heart-shaped stage and costume design all tie together every element of the album’s theme. The looks of the stage aren’t the only reasons this tour has gotten so much praise. Sabrina’s sense of humor and immaculate stage presence make fans feel like they’re in a real-life rom-com. One highlight of the show is her ongoing gag, in which she points to a random member in front of the audience and pretends to arrest them for being “too hot.” Later, the audience member is called out by name during the song “Juno.”
The tour’s setlist contains most of Sabrina Carpenter’s biggest hits, including her song “Nonsense.” During her last tour, Sabrina had a tradition of changing the song’s outro for each show, allowing fans to try and predict what she’d say next. For Short n’ Sweet, she had the clever idea of pretending her microphone cut out conveniently at the end of the song so that she didn’t have to write any more outros. It is one of the cleverest gags of the show because she could have easily sung the original lyrics for every show but instead decided to pay homage to the tradition from her “Emails I Can’t Send” tour.
Sabrina Carpenter’s career has skyrocketed this past year. Now, with six Grammy nominations and a VMA award for “Short n’ Sweet,” she is one of the top female pop stars in the world. This tour was her most major yet, and she made every show a night for fans to remember.
