The start of the DBHS Softball Season 

When many people think about a women’s sport, what is the first that comes to mind? Many may say the most obvious one is, Softball. And at DBHS the girls’ softball team has set high expectations and is looking forward to an amazing season as they enter their upcoming games. 

Now of course any athlete when entering a fresh season would have certain expectations for themselves as well as their teammates. , “My expectations are for everyone to have fun and try their absolute best” DBHS softball caption Yanelli Cruz said

This is a great mentality to have for yourself and others and shows she cares not only about herself but also about her teammates. 

Of course, no team is perfect, and there is always room for improvement. This is important to note when being on a sports team, but overall, the goal should always be to be better than what you were last season, whether that be in improving your play or your mentality. 

Now when asked during an interview about what she felt that the team could work on improving or what could be different this season from last season, “More team bonding and hard work”. captain, Yanelli Cruz, said.

This makes a lot of sense because a team must be able to work together to do their best on the field. It is a great thing that she recognizes that it will need to be worked on and changed this season, 

Overall, the DBHS softball team is looking for a bright season this year and is feeling a lot of excitement not only to start playing but also due to the amazing changes they will be making this season.
