Paddington makes his way to Peru
The third Paddington movie came out on January 17th in the United States and February 5th in France. That is the third movie after the original Paddington movie (2014) and the sequel, Paddington 2 (2017). It started developing in February 2021 and in cinemas in the United Kingdom.
Paddington is a fictional bear character in British children’s literature, who loves marmalade. He is like a teddy bear but alive, which makes him appealing to younger eyes. British author Michael Bond is the creator of Paddington. Bond’s creation of the incredible bear reflects his childhood memories of seeing evacuated children during World War II. Which inspired his creation in Paddington whose backstory starts off as a refuge with a label on his neck.
Paddington is an orphaned bear from Peru who is taken by a Bristish family, despite his solemn past, Paddington has a very kind and friendly character. He always has good intentions and never means to hurt anyone. For some, this can be an important lesson towards younger audiences.
In this movie, Paddington receives a letter from a home for retired bears in Peru, informing him that his Aunt Lucy is behaving strangely. In response, Paddington and the Brown family travel to Peru. Upon arrival, they discover that Aunt Lucy has gone missing in the jungle. In her cabin, Paddington finds a map and begins the search at a location called Rumi Rock.
The Paddington films have always been filled with humor and child appropriate plots. Over the years of the growing films, Paddington has grown as much as the audience has. So, this new film of “Paddington in Peru,” has a different type of story since Paddington is now going to Peru, where he originally came from.
“I think the third Paddington movie won’t have any deaths because the previous movies are rated PG. If it did, it would upset the audience as these characters are beloved,” says DBHS freshman Nephtalie Joissaint.
A plot twist is then revealed by the end of this film, creating a shocking space for any who watches it. Director Dougal Wilson believes that believes that the films consist of funny adventures but keeps that immigrant story at heart.
