The son of Poseidon

The infamous Percy Jackson series is getting a second season. The fans of the books and the movies have all really liked the first season of the series. The second season follows Percy and his friends as they go on a quest to find the magical Golden Fleece to save Camp Half-Blood from a poisoning, which is causing its protective barrier to fall. This is causing many monsters to attack the camp and the children there.

The main plot in the first season is that Percy is figuring out how to live as a demigod after his mother disappeared, having been about to be crushed by a monster. Percy gets claimed by his father after getting pushed into a lake, and his cuts from Capture the Flag magically heal. Percy is a forbidden child of the God Poseidon. Percy gets his first quest to retrieve Zeus’ lightning bolt, which was stolen by someone in Camp Half-Blood. Percy was asked to choose two demigods to accompany him; he chose Annabeth, daughter of Athena, and Grover, who had been his mentor on the way to the camp. The trio fought many monsters, and Percy’s power grew stronger. Before Percy went on his quest, his friend Luke, son of Hermes, gave him a pair of flying shoes that would help him with his quest. However, Luke tricked him and was the one who stole the lightning bolt, working with the villain, Kronos. Percy fought with the god of war, Ares, to retrieve Hades’ helmet and reclaim his mother. His mom came back, and Percy, Annabeth, and Grover were the heroes of Camp Half-Blood. 

Many fans predict that this upcoming season will be very good. Many fans have either read the books, watched the movies, or both. Freshman Mayte Mondragon says, “I’m so excited for the new season to come out. The first season was amazing, interesting, and entertaining. I’m sure the new season will be too. I’m excited to see the new cast members join and for more of the story to be revealed. I’m excited to see the new cast members acting and if they are as good as the older cast members. I’m also very excited to see Athena, Aphrodite, and Zeus.” 

Senior Thiago Codeceria says, “I’m very excited to see what they do with the second season and see how they expand more of the books into it and explore more with Percy. I’m most excited to see the new character Tyson because he is the greatest of all time. I hope to see the god Poseidon.” Senior Yasmin Husain says, “I am so excited to see all the scenes and the story line that I read in the second book. I’m most excited to see what happens with Luke and to be introduced to the new characters that I saw in the book. I hope to see Poseidon way more often than we did, and I hope Percy and him start to form more of a relationship.”
