Expectations for 2026 NBA playoffs 

The 2026 NBA Playoffs weren’t just about winning; they were legacy. As Shai Gilgeous Alexander and OKC come off a 68-14 record and a championship, they are looking to strike again this season.

As the season continues, the Detroit Pistons are the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference, while the OKC Thunder are the #1 seed in the Western Conference. There were some high expectations coming into this postseason, such as can the Thunder go back-to-back, or is Lebron still going to be a top contributor for the Lakers at the age of 41. This season has brought a lot of surprises and different responses, such as unexpected trades, crazy shots and dunks, and different outbursts from fans.

Some people may think OKC may go back-to-back this season, but the Pistons are on a roll with their starting point guard, Cade Cunningham. The Spurs were right behind the Thunder with their starting center, Wembanyama. After coming off an injury this season, he has been impressed to watch. With a different color jersey this year, can James Harden carry the Cavaliers to the playoffs?

This was very unexpected for the Los Angeles Clippers. The season has brought a lot of shocking things to fans and players. This postseason will bring fun, excitement, and last but not least, tears.
